Mariz Umali Responds to Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings Controversy




Kapuso journalist Mariz Umali shared her thoughts on the ongoing controversy involving Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings during a Reddit "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) session hosted by GMA Integrated News. The issue has drawn attention online following allegations of cheating, with Anthony's ex-girlfriend, Jam Villanueva, posting screenshots of conversations on Instagram Stories that allegedly implicate Maris and Anthony.  

While her name trended alongside Maris Racal due to their similar names, Mariz Umali took a measured stance, calling for understanding and empathy for those involved.  

“Di ko akalaing mag-te-trend ako alongside Maris. Pero seriously I hope we can also give them a break. Masakit pinagdaraanan nila and though Filipinos love humor, naniniwala ako na Filipinos also are sensitive enough to give them peace,” Mariz said.  



She also encouraged netizens to approach the situation with compassion, urging everyone to pray for those affected by the controversy.  

“Kaugnay sa nangyaring kontrobersya, ipagdasal na lang natin sila. Walang may gusto na malagay sa ganung kontrobersya, sakit at kahihiyan kaya let's pray for their peace of mind and the ability to rise from this painful situation,” she added.  


The controversy continues to spark discussions online, but Mariz’s message stands as a reminder to handle sensitive issues with care.
